PARASITE DESIGN

Parasite is a French brand, whose leitmotiv is symbiosis in every domain of their activity : symbiosis between design and communication, symbiosis between the product and its user, symbiosis between the brand and the public, symbiosis between the company and people. Parasite design’s purpose is to diversify their activity, by creating both objects and communication, and to bring regurlarly innovation. The team is young and ambitious. THE STEM CELL

During his studies, Hugo Martin designed specific glasses for his friend Liv Sansoz, who is a climbing champion. She needed a pair of glasses that would stay in place no matter what position she might find herself in. That’s how he created the active holding system, which consists in having the glasses holding thanks to the 4 arms exerting light pressure on the temples. Thanks to their flexibility, the glasses can adapt to each wearer’s particular morphology, thus becoming one with their host: they really are living eyewear.

As technology advances, man mutates according to the object, through his own creations and the way he uses them. Parasite shares a vision of a world close to science fiction. In a context loaded with technology and virtual reality, we are obliged to reconsider the pre-established patterns that apply to many aspects of our existence.

Parasite has inherited from the overthrowing of codes, both at the practical and aesthetic levels. It shapes a world in which technology is assimilated to such an extent that it has become one with living beings.

Parasite works on the fusion between the object and its user, between the brand and its public. The glasses are an embodiment of this idea: they are technologically advanced and yet organic, sporty and fashionable, sober but coloured, original and refined. Through advertising and contamination, the consumer himself becomes a parasite, a viral agent.

THE PARASITE COMMUNITY

The utmost ambition of the brand is to make customers directly involved in the company, by leading them to actively participate in its various projects (design, communication,…). The aim is to make the customer feel that they are taking part in the success story of the brand.

MATERIALS: Parasite solar lenses are made of polycarbonate. They filter 100 % UV rays (to 400 nm lenght of wave). And they filter (category 3 lenses) at least 88% of visible blue light (380 - 500 nm) that is noxious for the eyes

OFF-CENTER LENSES: Parasite solar lenses that are base 8 (strongly curved lenses) are all off-center, (optical center is shifted) in a way to resolve the deformation caused by the curve of the lens.

ANTIREFLECTION: All Parasite solar lenses have got antireflection treatment on their back side. Thus, they offer more precise vision, and better comfort.

ANTISCRATCH: All Parasite solar lenses benefit from a special varnish that atenuates risks of scratches and abrasion.

Active Holding

LIVING EYEWEAR

Contrary to standard glasses, the Parasite frame is not designed to involve the ears and the nose. It caresses the wearer’s face and gently holds on the temples. In spite of a unique size, the Parasite frame adapts to every kind of morphology and allows optimised comfort, holding and style. It really is a living object.
